About Us
To our valued visitors,
2011 brought a number of challenges to our business. Our number one complaint was the time it took for web pages to download on the shopping cart. We have implemented some new technologies and the speed of our shopping cart has increased tremendously.
The second change this year is aimed at working with video to deliver service information. The cost to service machines in the field is almost cost prohibitive with gas hitting above $3.00 a gallon. We encourage you to utilize your smart phones or web cams to show and explain your issues and we will do the same with potential solutions. If we can fix it via video everyone wins. If your machine needs servicing, the cost to ship UPS or Fedex is minimal in comparison.
We are also incorporating a loaner/rental program for the gummed tape machines when service is needed. For a nominal cost per week, billed bi-weekly, we will send a machine to you on loan, you will be able to return your machine in the same box and this will minimize downtime. Call for more details.
Our web site is set up with two main areas of focus. The main section is devoted to delivering the tools you need to find, purchase, operate, maintain, and repair the machines used in your packaging and shipping departments. The catalog is set up to make purchasing with pictures easier when you need something. Cross links are also available between the two.
As always, we try to make contacting a humanoid as easy as possible. I am still amazed at how many web sites do not list phone numbers on every page. We also include an email link and fax number. If a company makes it difficult to contact them before the sale, what makes you think they will answer after?
Over the last 33 years I have seen many changes affecting the methods of educating customers on the value of finding the best solutions to packaging. The Internet by far has been the greatest change and created the greatest challenge to our business. We strive to bring the right information to you so you can make educated decisions.
In 1995 I launched our first web site under www.turnerco.com. In 1998 I posted my first video clips. (Would you believe a 3 second video was over 1 MB and took several minutes to download?)
In 2006 we started "utilizing" video technology. Today we have over 300 videos available explaining how the machines work and how to maintain them. We have also created web sites specifically geared toward the best way to get the information to your fingertips. We host several web sites. One, www.ezpps.com offers a quick way to use your Internet able cell phone to surf through our contents pages for a link to the information on our main web site. This saves time on page downloads. During this year we will be adding "scan" reader codes too.
A second web site, www.videopps.com contains our video library. Since Google has discontinued hosting the videos and now recommends YouTube, we have added a channel called ProPackSolutions. A picture is said to be worth a thousand words, that must make the videos priceless. We encourage you to take advantage of the technology.
2012 celebrates 54 years of continuous business for Pro Pack Solutions®, Inc. Back in 1958 Bill Turner relocated from North Carolina to Georgia and set up William N. Turner Company selling Better Packages brand tape dispensers in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. In 1979 I started working as a salesman for Bill Turner. In 1988, Bill retired and sold the business to my wife and I.
Two years ago my brother Mark returned to the business. Mark worked during the first 6 years and left to pursue other ventures after he tried to encourage me to expand the product line to include consumables for the equipment we were selling. What can I say, he was right. I am fortunate to have his talents as we move forward.
On March 27, 2012 we celebrated 24 years of ownership. Our business hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. Sometimes earlier, many times later. We look to serving your needs.
Best wishes for 2011,
Matthew and Vauda Beinke
formerly William N. Turner Co., Inc.
