Introducing Pigment-Based Black Porous Inks!
We’re excited to announce that MSSC is now manufacturing pigment-based black porous ink for use with their thermal inkjet printers!
What’s the Difference?
Most traditional inkjet cartridges use dye-based ink, where the colorant is fully dissolved in liquid—much like sugar dissolving in water. This type of ink is ideal for many general-purpose applications.
However, pigment-based inks work a little differently. Instead of dissolving, the colorant is made up of solid particles suspended in the liquid. These particles offer some unique advantages.
Why Pigment-Based Ink?
- Reduce ink migration – ensuring crisp, clear prints that stay in place, which is especially important for barcode readability
- Increase fade resistance – making prints last longer over time
- Improve water resistance – ideal for environments with moisture exposure
- Maintain performance across freeze/thaw cycles – for consistent results in variable storage conditions
