1) What is the best way to remove labels from a roll? Hand removing and applying labels can be very time consuming. Finding the next label on the roll, cracking the liner away, and removing can take several seconds per label. An electric label dispenser will automatically advance the next label into position for the operator to just pick it off and stick it. This process is five times faster than manually removing and allows the operator to focus on applying only.
2) Can I dispense multiple rolls of labels on the same dispenser? In order to properly dispense labels, all labels must be on the same core. As an example if your label was one inch wide you could have two labels wide on the same roll of labels. In the industry this is called printing them "2 up", for 3 it would be "3 up". The operator removes the all labels except the one that is in front of the switch or photo eye. When the last one is removed the next row of labels are advanced for the operator to pick and stick.
3) Will this machine put the labels on my products automatically? No, this is just a dispenser for the operator to pick and stick. In order to automatically apply the labels you would need a label applicator that will apply labels consistently and even on your products. They are available either by manually placing your item into the dispenser and having the applicator apply or a fully automatic inline label applicator that is used with a conveyor line for high production lines.
4) What is the best way to dispense clear labels? Generally with clear labels we recommend using the micro switch models. When the label runs into the lever (only needs 2 grams of force to activate), the machine will stop dispensing the label until the operator removes it to advance the next label. We recommend sending a small sample roll of labels to us for testing. Depending upon the type of adhesive some clear labels will dispenser properly with a photo eye.
5) Can I dispense thin mylar or foil type labels? This machine will dispense paper labels thicker than 3 MIL. For Mylar, foil, acetate or very thin labels use of the optional sharp edge dispensing table and/or micro-switch guide may be required. We recommend sending a small sample roll of labels in for testing.
6) Can I use this for sheets of labels? No the labels must be on a roll or fan-folded. The core can be up to 3 inches in diameter (standard).
7) What are the differences between this dispenser and those for much less money? Generally you get what you pay for. To cut cost some manufacturers use thinner metals and weaker motors that won't last or stand up to industrial applications. Smaller motors will either dispense labels very slowly or wear out early. Dispensamatic label dispensers are made in America with 120v motors and are built to give years of service.
