The Dispensa-Matic U-60 Micro Switch model is a semi-automatic electric label dispenser designed for industrial pick and stick labeling applications. It accommodates roll or fan-folded labels from 3/8" up to 6" wide.
This version uses a physical micro switch lever for label detection. When the operator removes the dispensed label, the switch activates the motor to advance the next label into position. The next label stops in the ready position for immediate application.
1) What does a label dispenser do? An electric label dispenser advances the next label automatically after the previous one is removed. This eliminates manual peeling from the liner and increases operator speed in pick and stick applications.
2) Does this machine apply labels automatically? No. The U-60MS is a dispenser only. The operator removes the exposed label and applies it manually. For automated application, a label applicator system is required.
3) Why choose the Micro Switch model for clear labels? The mechanical lever detects label removal physically rather than optically. This makes the micro switch model more reliable for clear, reflective, or difficult-to-read labels compared to photo eye systems.
4) Can it dispense thin Mylar, foil, or acetate labels? Paper labels thicker than 3 MIL run without issue. Very thin synthetic materials may require the optional sharp edge dispensing plate or photo eye model. Testing with a sample roll is recommended.
5) Can it dispense sheets of labels? No. Labels must be supplied on a roll or in fan-fold format.
6) How does this compare to lower-cost dispensers? The U-60MS uses a high torque motor and industrial construction designed for production environments. Lower-cost units often use lighter components and smaller motors that may not hold up under continuous use.
Labels are threaded over the dispensing plate and positioned against the micro switch lever. When the exposed label is removed, the lever drops and triggers the motor to advance the next label. The machine stops automatically when the next label reaches the dispensing edge.
