E555-013-01 Bottom Heater Plate for BP555e Series Top Heater
This heater plate fits the BP555e series tape dispensers manufactured after 1999. It installs on the E555-007-01 top heater assembly and restores proper heating performance when the original plate has failed.
If your top heater is not warming up, the heater plate is a common failure point. The thermostat (ST2313) can also fail. If you need the complete heater assembly, see part E555-007-01.
Before replacing parts, test by swapping heaters between machines. Plug a known-good heater into the suspect machine and plug the suspected bad heater into a working machine. This will confirm whether the issue is isolated to the heater or related to wiring or power delivery.
Operating temperature is approximately 160 degrees Fahrenheit using a low-voltage heating circuit.
Moisture Problems Are Not Always Heater Problems
If your tape is not bonding, weak moistening is often the real issue. The moistening brushes need to be cleaned every week or two using a dish soap like Dawn. Avoid hand soaps since many contain oils. Brush bristles remove the dried glue surface and allow water to penetrate. Worn brushes cause water beading, uneven wetting, and dry streaks. Brushes usually last three to five years depending on usage.
