On the early machines the feed wheel was metal. If you are updating your machine with the newer feed wheel you will need to replace the assembly.
We suggest ordering an encoder wheel (E555-150-00) or go ahead and see if it can be removed prior to ordering this assembly. The wheel is held on by a plastic nib that has a tendency to bend out of place or snap off when trying to remove it from the shaft. Be sure to back off the encoder reader (E555-068-01) prior to removing the wheel.
