Upper Feed Wheel for Better Packages Tape Dispensers
The Better Packages E55506500 upper feed wheel is driven by the motor (BP555e/BP500s) or crank handle (BP333s).
This rubber feed wheel is not typically a wear item. Many machines run for years with the original wheel intact. Replacement is usually only required if the wheel is physically damaged, such as being cut, chipped, or missing due to operator error or contact with a blade.
If you are experiencing tape tracking to one side, or inconsistent feeding, inspect the lower idler wheel assembly (E55505301 - BP555e only) first. On BP555e series machines, lower idler wheel issues are a far more common cause of tracking problems than the upper feed wheel. If tape length is consistently too short, adjust (tighten) the lower idler wheel. If tape is consistently drifting to one side causing jams, inspect the lower idler wheel to see if it is bent. In that case, replace the lower idler wheel.

Note: This feed wheel is also used in Phoenix tape dispensers.
If you have a metal feed wheel and want to replace it with this rubber version, additional components are required. You will need to replace the feed wheel shaft and related hardware, including the pin, washer, and e-clip.
For BP555e models, order the E555-024-01 feed wheel shaft assembly.
For BP333 models, you will need the FM49X along with the EA46P pin, washer, and e-clip. Call for assistance if needed: (770) 554-1187.
Common Symptoms This Part May Fix
- Feed wheel is chipped, cut, or missing sections of rubber
- Wheel is physically damaged and cannot maintain proper contact with the tape
- Wheel is missing - check and make sure you still have the pin, washer, and e-ring.
Important: Tape tracking to one side is more commonly caused by a bent lower idler wheel assembly, especially on BP555e series machines.
