Fits Better Packages BP555e model gummed tape dispensers built from 1999 - 2018.
Before you go replacing this part, make sure the magnet is still in the top cover and has not fallen out. This magnet notoriously falls out making the machine inoperable.
If the magnet has fallen out and gone missing, be sure to inspect the inside of the left side frame. Sometimes it pops off the top cover and sticks to the inside of the frame.
You can test the proximity switch. If you have a magnet (like a fridge magnet or random magnet), place the magnet against the proximity switch and test the machine. If the machine works check the alignment of the top cover if the magnet isn't missing. If you need additional help, call the office and our service department can connect via video chat.
In 2018 the switch was changed to the E555-270-01. Compare pictures to purchase the correct switch. The new style will not work on the older machines since the side frame was modified.
