We recommend cleaning the tank and brush every week or two for best moistening. Moistening brush should be replaced every 3-5 years. When you run out of water and need to refill the bottle, it's a good opportunity to clean the tank and brushes. When the brushes are too gunked up, the bristles won't properly scratch and reactivate the dried glues. A clean brush and tank make for better tape application overall.
Check the rubber gasket (called duck bills) in your water bottle as well! This gasket helps reduce water spillage when handling the water bottle.
