Fits Better Packages 555eS and 555eSA gummed tape dispensers. This magnet is found in the top cover on the left-hand side. The magnet is one half of the safety switch on the machine. If your machine is fed with tape, but only beeps when you press a key, check to see if this magnet is missing.
The left-most magnet is the original magnet placement. It uses the E555-075-01 proximity switch.
The manufacturer moved the magnet towards the front of the lid in an effort to help keep it from falling out. It can be seen to the right of the original magnet in the image above. It uses the E555-270-01 magnetic reed switch.
The machine only uses one switch. Check the side frame to see which switch you have installed. If your machine is old enough, it'll only have the E555-075-01 proximity switch and magnet placement.
The original magnet likes to stick to the side frame if it falls out. If you have the original magnet placement for your machine, before you order a new magnet, see if the original magnet is stuck to the side frame.
We recommend using J-B Weld epoxy to reinstall the magnet.
