Replacement Nylon Brush for the Better Packages TapeShooter 404 Water-Activated Tape Dispenser
The 0128980 nylon brush moistens the adhesive side of water-activated tape as it is dispensed. A clean brush provides consistent water distribution, allowing the adhesive to activate properly for a strong bond to the carton.
Over time, adhesive residue, dust, and paper fibers can build up in the bristles. When this happens, the tape may become overly wet, slide on the carton, or require excessive rubbing before it sticks. Regular cleaning helps restore proper performance and extends the life of the brush.
We recommend cleaning the nylon brush before its first use to remove any manufacturing residue. Wash the brush with a mild dishwashing detergent, such as Dawn®, then rinse thoroughly.
As preventative maintenance, clean the brush several times per year—or more often in dusty environments or high-volume operations.
For brushes with heavy adhesive buildup, soak them overnight in warm water. A small amount of white vinegar can help soften dried adhesive before rinsing.
If the bristles become worn or hardened and can no longer remove dried adhesive, replace the brush. Fresh bristles allow water to penetrate the adhesive on the tape for proper activation and dependable carton sealing.
Every time you refill the water bottle, take the brush tank to the sink as well. Empty the dirty water, rinse the brush and tank, then refill both with clean water. This simple habit removes adhesive residue before it hardens and helps keep your TapeShooter operating at peak performance.
