FM55PXXX Top Heater for Better Pack 333 – Heater Only

The FM55PXXX Top Heater is a direct replacement heating element for the Better Pack 333 manual water-activated (gummed) tape dispenser. This part includes the heater only. Mounting hardware is not included.

Purpose of This Top Heater

This heater creates a dedicated heated zone at the tape moistening area so the brushes deliver warmer water to the gum side of the tape. Warmer water helps the adhesive reactivate more consistently, leading to:

• Improved gum activation
• Faster tack to corrugated cartons
• More reliable sealing, especially in cooler environments

Warm water helps break down dried glue on the tape surface so it bonds more effectively to the box.

Compatibility

• Fits: Better Pack 333 manual gummed tape dispenser
• Also fits: Compatible M1 and M2 Phoenix manual dispensers
• Does not fit: BP500 series tape dispensers

Before Replacing the Heater

If your tape adhesion is weak or inconsistent, check these first:

• Water level is correct and delivery is even
• Moistening brushes are clean and not worn. Replacement brushes are the PW107AK moistening brushes. 
• Ambient temperature isn’t slowing activation

Brush contamination and water delivery issues commonly mimic heater failure and can cause poor sealing even when the heater is fine.
