Phoenix now offers the E2-3 Moistening brush as a universal brush for all Phoenix tape dispensers. This moistening brush replaces the triple brushes used in the past for the Phoenix Electronic E1, E2 series & the dual brushes for the M-1 & M-2.
The brush should be replaced if they are worn down, or filled with glue and can't be washed out anymore. For instances of a lot of build up, you try soak the brushes overnight to break up the gunk.
The moistening brush works best when the tips of the bristles are able to scratch into the harden dried glues on gummed tape to reactivate the adhesive.
Replacement recommended every 3-5 years.
