Clamshell Sealers
Clamshell sealers are designed to close thermoformed plastic packaging, commonly used in retail for electronics, consumer goods, and tools. These packages showcase the product while keeping it clean, secure, and tamper-resistant.
We offer two sealing technologies:
- Ultrasonic: Delivers consistent, high-quality seals using high-frequency vibrations. Each cycle is controlled by a timer, so the seal is repeatable and precise. Though slightly more expensive, ultrasonic sealers eliminate guesswork and provide a cleaner, more professional result—especially important for customer-facing packaging.
- Constant Heat: Uses heated jaws to melt the plastic at the seal point. These sealers require the operator to manually time each seal by holding and releasing the jaws, making it more of a manual "art" than a timed process. With attention and practice, they get the job done, but seal quality may vary slightly from piece to piece.
For the best seal, we recommend testing your clamshell packaging before purchasing a machine. Some imported clamshells—especially those made with recycled plastic—may not bond well with heat or ultrasonic sealing. In those cases, clear stickers or staples may be better alternatives.
