This top heater helps reactivate the adhesive on gummed tape, ensuring it sticks properly to your cartons, especially in colder conditions where tape may struggle to bond.
Note: If your tape isn't sticking, the heater may not be the issue. First, check the moistening brushes. They should be cleaned every week or two using dishwashing detergent. Avoid hand soaps, as many contain oils. The bristles are designed to scratch and open up the dried glue, allowing water to soak in. If the brushes are worn, you'll get uneven moistening or dry spots where the water beads up instead of penetrating. Plan to replace brushes every 3–5 years depending on use.
