The E555-136-00 is the lower plate that affixes to the heater used on all Better Packages BP555e series gummed tape dispensers. Its job is to keep tape aligned as it passes under the heater. When this plate becomes bent or caked with with adhesive buildup, tape begins to jam.
If you are experiencing frequent jams at the heater, power the machine off, unplug it, and allow the heater to cool. Lift the top heater assembly and inspect both the underside of the heater and this guide plate. Remove any dried adhesive or debris. If the plate is bent, warped, or cannot be cleaned effectively, replacement is recommended.
