If your machine is leaking water, it may not need to be sent in for service. It's best to first determine where the leak is coming from!

If you are experiencing a slow "overnight" leak, and the bottle empties, there could be a hole in the bottle.

Fill the bottle with water, place a finger over hole, and squeeze the bottle.  If the bottle drips, or a stream develops, there is a hole in bottle.

If the tank doesn’t leak, inspect the bottle cap. Is the rubber gasket and spring present? Is the cap on tight?

If the cap is in good order, what is the level of the water in the tank? If it is too high, it may be leaking out of the tank. Note the notch on the back of tank.  Make sure water stays below that notch.

If it's a slow leak, and the bottle doesn’t empty overnight, pull out the tank and brushes.  If the brushes look nasty, clean them with dawn dish soap and warm water.  If worn or full of dried glues, replace.

Water could be slowly leaking via the brushes due to capillary action. Water can move up the brush, and where it touches the side frame, it can leak down the side.

The water tank could have a crack in it. This can happen if the tank is ever dropped. Hold the tank or place it on a table, fill it with water, and wait to see if water starts to drip out from it.

If all is good with the bottle, tank, and cap, is the machine square, level, and stable? High water and an unstable machine cause wobble, and thus leak during the day as the operator uses it.

If none of that solves your leaking issues, or if the machine is over 4-5 years old, it may be time for a servicing. Generally, machines cycle through the shop every few years. Usually for motor brushes, and top heater cleaning.
